Even the most playful tasks require serious dressing, as is proven in this photograph. Perched on a stool, a model juggles an unrealistic number of bright tennis balls while smiling surreptitiously at a companion in the distance. She wears a cropped swing jacket and flat-front shorts from Carolyn Schnurer’s Comet Yellow collection. The image, by fashion photographer John Rawlings, appeared in the January 1, 1953, Vogue.
